| I don't remember how to check for it, but there's a custom command for querying voice stuff which works on most 3G dongles: ''AT^CVOICE?''. Under normal circunstances, this command should give you audio format information. If it does not, either your 3G dongle doesn't support it at all or it's simply unlocked. | I don't remember how to check for it, but there's a custom command for querying voice stuff which works on most 3G dongles: ''AT^CVOICE?''. | Unlocking it is a though proccess. And, the last time I checked, you had to pay some shaddy Indians to be able to do it using their software. I had to do it because I did some dumb stuff I won't go into detail here, but had something to do with firmware //quid-pro-quos//. So, please avoide messing with firmware unless you absuletly know what you are doing. | Unlocking it is a though proccess. | | **Update (7/JAN/2026):** It looks like some people more intelligent than me figured the unlocking algorithm out, so, if you don't want to pay for a mere code, maybe you can try generating the code yourself. I suppose E303C uses the `v1` algorithm. Nevertheless, this is just for unlocking the dongle for other service providers, I don't know if works for unlocking voice, as well. If you're hell bent on using this **very outdated** hardware which isn't even supported on Asterisk, you might want to buy the code. |

| | As for the provider unlocking, I've found a mention [here](https://forum.zwame.pt/threads/desbloquear-router-huawei-lte-cpe-e5172.1065580/) to [this Russian website](http://calc.gmss.ru/index_en.php). But there's also a [thread on XDA](https://xdaforums.com/t/unlock-huawei-modems-and-routers-free.3134187/) and [this Gist](https://gist.github.com/plugnburn/4b34c6bd4d5264eabdbf82d2f46df2fc) by `plugnburn`, written in Python 2. |
